Killed in mishap

Imphal, April 19 2017:
A 30 year old labourer engaged in construction work was killed near Tulihal International Airport entrance gate after being struck by a speeding four wheeler at around 8 pm today.
The deceased has been identified as Kh Rabi (34) s/o Kh Ningthemba of Arong Nongmaikhong, a laborer of HVS construction engaged in the construction of the retaining wall along Tiddim road near the airport.
According to the information provided by fellow workers of the deceased, he was knocked down by a speeding Hyundai i10 car bearing registration number MN01G-1865 coming from Imphal while crossing the road.
The driver managed to hide nearby taking advantage of the commotion as the people were busy trying to take the victim to the hospital but came out when a team of security personnel from Kwakeithel outpost arrived at the scene.
Soon after the incident, a team of Singjamei police came and took away both the driver and his car.
The body of the deceased has been taken to RIMS morgue for postmortem by the police team.
