State level farmers training programme begins

Imphal, January 19 2022:
A two day State level farmers training programme on exotic fruits was inaugurated today at Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak.
The farmers training programme is being held under Mission for integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) .
For today, around 61 farmers from the hilly region attended the training programme and around 89 farmers from the valley region will attend tomorrow.
Speaking on the occasion, K Debadutta Sharma, Mission Director, MIDH, Horticulture and Soil Conservation appealed to all the farmers to be attentive during the training programme and avail the benefits of such programmes.
During the programme, resource persons spoke in different topics like 'Packages of practices for exotic fruits', 'Major diseases of exotic fruits and their management in Manipur' and 'Major common insects of exotic fruits' .
Also the success story of an apple farm in Ukhrul was also shared today.
Later an interaction programme among the farmers and resource persons was also held.
