Imphal, December 18 2024:
The Zeliangrong Baudi, Tamei Zone has appealed to the people of Manipur, both hills and valleys to restore normalcy with the spirit of forgive and forget.
A release issued by the Zeliangrong Baudi has stated that the ongoing 19 month long crisis in the State which started from May 3, 2023 has displaced more than 60,000 people, both hills and valley districts losing more than 250 people and thousands of them being injured including women and children.
Zeliangrong Baudi continued that even during war times women and children are protected through international laws.
However, on both sides women and children are not being spared, which is a very unfortunate crime for humanity in general.
Therefore with the advent Christmas 2024 which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the "Prince of Peace", the Zeliangrong Baudi, Tamei has appealed both the conflicting parties to hold out their olive branches to mitigate the' suffering and hardships being faced by the general public of the State and urged the leaders and public of both sides to come to negotiating table for dialogue to resolve their differences amicably with mutual understanding.
It further appeals to the Government of India and Manipur to initiate proper action and intervene on the present conflict at the earliest in the larger interest of aggrieved people of the State in particular and people in general.
