Imphal, December 18 2021:
The Janata Dal-United (JD-U) will surely take part in the next Government formation in Manipur after the State Assembly elections, said the party National president MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh.
Addressing a public meeting at Hapta Kangjeibung today, the MP continued that JD-U is gaining strength each passing day in the State.
"The attendance of a large number of people in the meeting proves that most of the candidates fielded by the party will emerge victorious in the Assembly election,'' he said and exuded confidence that forming the next Government without JD-U is not possible.
Saying that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who also is a JD-U leader, has developed Bihar into a model State, the MP reminded that it was Nitish Kumar who assured of bringing development with justice in Bihar in 2005 .
"Nitish Kumar has delivered his assurance in a span of 15 years," he added.
Prior to 2005, the law and order situation and infrastructure presence in Bihar was horrible as the Country was run by goondas, Rajiv Ranjan claimed and hailed Nitish Kumar for reserving 50 percent seats for women in ULBs and Panchayat to empower women in 2006 .
Currently, there are about 2 lakhs women representatives in ULBs and Panchayat in Bihar, he said and added that the Bihar Chief Minister also reserved 35 seats for women in any Government recruitment in the State.
On the situation in Manipur, the MP said that the State is, apart from lacking proper infrastructure, facing shortage of potable water even today.
Not holding the ADC and Imphal Municipal Corporation elections is a testament of centralising power in the State, he claimed and accused the Manipur Government of lacking commitment for not completing the project of National Sports University which was sanctioned in 2014 .
Saying that the JD-U entered into the electoral politics of Manipur with a commitment to bring development with justice in the State, Rajiv Ranjan maintained that the JD-U will give first priority on sports if the party becomes a coalition partner of the next Government and repeal the draconian AFSPA 1958 from Manipur.
He also urged the people of Manipur to support JD-U in the State Assembly election which will be held in the first quarter of 2022.The public meeting was also attended by JD-U National general secretary Harsh Vardhan, National secretary Manipur-in charge MP Ramprit Mandal, National general secretary North East in charge Afaque Ahmed Khan, Arunachal Pradesh unit president Ruhi Tagung, Manipur unit president Hangkhanpao Taithul and several intending candidates of the party.
