Prizes distributed to winners of plastic waste collection competition

Bishnupur, October 18 2019: Winners of the 1st Municipal Level Plastic Waste Collection Competition and Ward Level Cleanliness Competition held as part of 'Swachhta Hi Seva' under 'Swachh Survekshan 2020' under the aegis of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GoI for Moirang Municipal Council were felicitated with simple prizes today.

The award distribution function organized by Moirang Municipal Council at its Conference Hall was attended by Director MAHUD, GoM Th Harikumar Singh; Chairperson Moirang Municipal Council M Romibala Devi; vice-Chairperson M Basant Singh and Councilors as presidium members.

Ward members of the said council were also presnet in the function.

Citizen's Club walked away with the first prize which carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for collecting 650 Kg of plastic wastes while Public Information Centre settled at 2nd position and pocketed in Rs 7,500 for collecting 520 Kg plastic wastes and Moirang Youths' Ideal Club, Konjengbam collected 173.95 Kg plastic waste to finish at 3rd position and collected cash prize of Rs 5,000 .

Other participants who have collected 80 Kg and above plastic wastes were also given consolation prize of Rs 1,000 each.

A total of 1766 Kg plastic wastes were collected in the 1st phase of the competition while in Ward Level Cleanliness Competition, ward no 11 secured the 1st position, ward no 6 stood at 2nd position and ward no 12 settled at 3rd position.

They received cash prize of Rs 4,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively while ward no 9 and ward no 5 received Rs 1,000 each as consolation prizes.
