Patta for 188 religious structures

Imphal, October 18 2011:
Acting on the Supreme Court's order to dismantle all religious structures built in public places, the State Government has decided to issue pattas to 188 religious structures.
An official source informed that the Government has decided to issue pattas to 188 religious structures out of 415 such structures built in public places.
In the first phase, 70 religious structures would be given pattas out of 188 such structures built in Imphal West district.
For Imphal East district, 16 religious structures would be given pattas out of 112.In Thoubal district, all 14 religious structures located in public places would be given pattas.
In Bishnupur district, the Government has decided to issue pattas to 85 religious structures out the total of 96 .
All three religious structures identified to have been built in public places in Churachandpur district would be given pattas.
In Senapati district, there was one religious structure in public place but the same has been removed.
As for Ukhrul district, there is one church in the godown complex of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Department.
Instead of removing the church, the Government has decided to allot alternative site for building the godown.
According to reports submitted by respective Deputy Commissioners, there are no religious structures in public places within Tamenglong and Chandel districts.
