Imphal, July 18 2014 :
Demanding justice for his late son Prakreet, Soram Tiken implored associations and people fighting for justice in the case to refrain from taking the matter to a communal turn.
Speaking in a press conference today at Manipur press Club, Tiken said that that they do not blame anyone for his their son's death neither do they intend to handle the case based on community lines.
Refuting Alvina Gonson's claim that they are trying to bring her name down by dragging her into the case, Tiken told media persons that they do not blame Alvina or anyone for their son's death.
They were merely narrating the events before Prakreet was murdered, said Tiken.
Before his death, Prakreet was reportedly seen with the singer till late in the evening.
The family is even ready to produce evidence in this regard, he added.
Tiken claimed that Alvina's testimony that she did not go out late that night was a lie to escape from the case.
Tiken also expressed his displeasure with the conduct of the police on the matter.
Expressing resentment over the negligence of the police, he said that Prakreet's body was handled before the forensic team arrived at the spot.
The family later learned from the forensic team, Tiken added, that the department was told off by the police while the IO infomed the family that the forensics have refused to come.
Tiken alleged that the police refused to lodge an FIR on the case.
T Raju, convenor of the People Action Committee (PAC) formed against Prakreet's murder, said that the committee does not harbour any ill feelings towards any individual or community.
Also, the 5-hour public curfew clamped at Uripok by the PAC has been suspended in view of the inconvenience faced the public, added the PAC convenor.
