1 dies of Rabies

Ukhrul, August 17 2021:
A 33-year-old woman working as a private school teacher died of Rabies on Monday.
The deceased Floria Kaping is daughter of Yarthotngam of Kaping Tangrei, Ukhrul.
She was reportedly bitten by a 'stray' dog on May 2 last in her home.
According to the family members of the deceased, Floria complaint of breath-lessness last Thursday.
She was then taken to Ukhrul Hospital and the doctors there referred her to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.
She was diagnosed with rabies at RIMS.
She succumbed to the viral disease on Monday.
On the other hand, All Hunphun Tangs Association (AHTA) , Ukhrul as a part of precautionary measures carried out publicity across Ukhrul town to vaccinate dogs and chain them.
The deceased family members also urged the people of Ukhrul rearing dogs to be more cautious and vaccinate their pets anti rabies vaccine regularly.
