Imphal, July 17 2015 : JAC against the killing of Konthoujam Debala Devi has urged the State Government to take up immediate step to pull up the suspected culprit(s) at the earliest.

Speaking to media persons during a press meet at Manipur Press Club today, JAC member W Sanaton said that Debala (20), w/o Konthoujam Amarjit of Yairipok Kapyai was found hung in a suspicious manner on July 15 at around 2.30 pm.

Sanaton claimed that Debal had phoned her elder sister in Huikap around 1.27 pm.

During the conversation, Debala merely told her sister to help her.

A case has been registered in Nongpok Sekmai police station.

Though police have maintained that the investigation is underway and concrete result of the dead can be drawn only after conducting a post-mortem, no information regarding the matter has been conveyed till date.

Stating that a post-mortem is also yet to be conducted, the JAC appealed to the State Government to look into the matter and pull up the culprit(s) involved in the killing of Debala.
