SSA, RMSA teachers stage sit-in

Bishnupur, January 17 2020: Claiming that they have been denied various benefits, Joint SSA & RMSA Teachers Association Manipur along with SSA and RMSA teachers staged a protest in front of ZEO Zone IV Bishnupur office at A -Block of the Bishnupur Mini Secretariat Complex today.

On the sideline of the sit-in protest today, SSA Teachers Association Bishnupur secretary RK Rashikanta alleged that teachers, who had joined RMSA in 2011 and SSA in 2012, are not given their salaries regularly and they have denied of various benefits till today.

Commenting on the various grievances of the teachers, he claimed that they are not provided with the avenue for promotion as they are not included in the 'seniority list' .

They had launched various agitation earlier but were called off as Chief Minister had assured them of positive actions.

However, there has been no action till today, he said.

Denouncing the inaction of the related authorities and the CM, the teachers resumed their agitation from January 13, he added demanding written assurance and action on their demands from the Chief Minister.

Agitation will continue till their grievances are addressed, said the teachers.

Several placards that read 'We want a permanent solution,' 'Please keep your promises,' 'Don't betray SSA and RMSA Teachers Association' were used by the teachers during the protest' .
