ABVP urges Governor, CM to improve education system

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Manipur has submitted a series of demands to the Government to improve the education system across the State.
In a statement, ABVP said that their representatives met Governor Anusuiya Uikey and CM N Biren Singh recently and discussed the issues and challenges besieging the education sector.
Their demands include addressing the educational crisis in Manipur, prompt implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Manipur and establishment of permanent campuses of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), Manipur Technical University (MTU) and Manipur University of Culture.
It also demanded improving education infrastructure, timely declaration of examination results, opening of one Government Post-Graduate college in every district and one Under-Government Post-Graduate college in every sub-division and formation of a committee to ensure private universities and colleges comply with UGC norms.
Reservation for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), addressing challenges in conducting examinations, resolving examination irregularities and tackling unemployment are the other demands which the ABVP raised.
After meeting the Governor and the Chief Minister, State secretary of ABVP Gautam Philem said that their demands should be discussed in the upcoming Assembly session which will begin on July 31 .
