Pact not to affect other States: GK Reddy

Minister of State for Home Affairs, G Kishan Reddy today informed the Lok Sabha that significant progress has been made in the ongoing political negotiations with the NSCN (IM) and other Naga Groups and added "adequate care is being taken to protect the interest of all stakeholders including the neighbouring States".
Responding to a question raised by Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan Singh in Parliament today, the Minister said that the negotiations between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) have been going on since 1997 and added that significant progress has been made in these talks.
RK Ranjan specifically asked, 'the details of the peace talks,' 'the progress made so far towards bringing a final settlement elucidating the significance of the Framework Agreement of 2015," and "whether a final political settlement with the NSCN (IM) will impact the neighbouring States and the details".
RK Ranjan is a first time BJP MP elected from the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and significantly the Framework Agreement between New Delhi and the NSCN (IM) was signed on August 3, 2015 .
The details of the Framework Agreement have been kept a top secret all these years, triggering apprehension in the minds of the neighbouring States.
