Imphal, February 16 2017:
The North East India Development Party (NEIDP) has compared the State units of National parties to agents or franchises which function at the dictates of their headquarters.
A political convention of NEIDP candidate in Wangkhem AC Yumnam Nabachandra was held today at Thoubal Haokha Mamang Leikai.
Speaking at the convention, NEIDP president Narengbam Samarjit said that the NEIDP was set up as National parties and their State units hardly understand the sentiments, grievances and aspirations of the people of Manipur.
He stated that these National political parties are not suitable enough to the soil of Manipur.
He went on to claim that the NEIDP was set up with the objective of heralding collective socio-economic development of all the North Eastern States.
Archaic political parties have been ruling the State for a prolonged period but they could not treat all the people uniformly.
On the other hand, the chasm between the rich and the poor have been widening and different issues have been plaguing the State.
Even though different political parties have been promising revolutionary changes, they have so far not spelt out the nature and extent of changes they have been talking about.
Nonetheless, NEIDP is fully convinced that it can bring about substantial changes all over the North Eastern region within the next 20 years, Samarjit said.
Yumnam Nabachandra too spoke at the convention.
On the other hand, 21 office bearers and members of BJP steering committee have joined NEIDP and they were accorded a warm reception at Takyel Khongbal Mayai Leikai under Patsoi AC.
Speaking at the felicitation function, NEIDP vice-president E Brojendro claimed that more and more people have started reposing their faith in the party which would work exclusively for the North East region.
