Damreidam crowns first Kangpokpi Police Idol

Kangpokpi, December 15 2019: Damreidam, a VDF in Manipur Police Department posted at New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi District was crowned the first Kangpokpi Police Idol, and also the first in Manipur Police Department.

VDF Damreidam won the title after defeating VDF Haokholal Kipgen of Reserve Line and Constable Chonminlal Doungel of Gamnom-Saparmeina Police Station in a grand finale of competition held during an Advent Christmas celebration at the campus of SP Kangpokpi office yesterday.

The three winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs.10,000; Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 respectively.

Later, in the evening, a live concert was organized as part of the Advent Christmas celebration by Kangpokpi Police at the same venue where many other entertainment programmes were also conducted in the presence of CSOs and local bodies volunteers, apart from Police Officers of different Police Stations in Kangpokpi District.

The grand finale of the Police Idol was also attended by Addl DGP Christopher Doungel and IGP (Adm) IK Muivah, and broke the stereotype of rank system in the Police Department by showing their down-to-earth attitude and serving food to the police personnel and their families.

Juliana Doungel, wife of Christopher also attended the programme.

Kangpokpi Police has become the first to have introduced Fitness Club and Police Idol in the State's Police Department.
