Ukhrul BJP peeved with SBI functioning at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, December 01 2015: Amidst strong complaints regarding the inadequacy of banks and banking facilities at Ukhrul district, the existing SBIbranch at Somsai, Ukhrul is far from fimctioning properly, Ukhrul district BJP secretary Vilty K Shimray said a statement today.

The incumbent branch Manager has been found attending the office only twice a week, the BJP secretary charged.

Pending files are being stacked in heaps and piles even as customers are frantically rushing for depositing and withdrawal of money.

He has further alleged that the only SBI ATM booth in the district had been lying non-functional for over a year since its installation in the Mini Secretariat owing to the incompetency of the incumbent branch Manager.

SBI is the only bank which has adamantly refused to grant Mudra loans to the deserving despite the grand launch of the project by MP Prahlad Singh Patel in October 2015.The branch Manager is allegedly busy attending dinner calls of some individuals.

Ukhrul BJP cannot afford to retain such irresponsible officers who are derelict in duties at the cost of the district interest and development, Vilty K Shimray stated.
