Church bodies decry eviction order

Imphal, September 15 2018: The Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA) which comprises of around 200 Churches in the State and the Rongmei Christian Advocacy Council (RCAC) have strongly condemned the eviction notice served to Lamphel Rongmei Baptist Church and Lamphel Baptist Church on September 4 by the SDC Lamphel, Imphal West.

Ajoint press release issued by the two bodies today mentioned that the association and the council cannot but take the act as a wilful act of targeting the minority community and thei rreligion by the State Government.

The RNBA and RCAC also appealed to the Department concerned and the State Government to refrain from going against the interest and wishes of the people.
