PHED Minister Dikho inaugurates HWCs at Mao

Senapati, July 15 2019: Health & Wellness Centres at Pudunamei and Punanamei villages were inaugurated by PHED Minister, Losii Dikho, as the chief guest in the presence of Dr S Manikanta Singh, State Mission Director, State Health Society, Manipur and Dr H Loli Mao, Director/CMO, District health Society, Senapati, who also attended the programme as president and guest of honour respectively.

Dr Loli Mao, CMO of the District said that providing comprehensive primary health care services to every member of a household at a doorstep is the main objective of upgrading the Sub Centre.

He mentioned that the HWC under Ayushman Bharat will provide services consultation with the service provider, tele-consultation with the doctors/specialists, essential medicines for blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases.

Facilities for screening oral, breast and cervical cancer, normal delivery services, antenatal and postnatal care, immunization services, newborn and child health services, adolescent health services, family planning services, elderly care, mental health services, etc will also be available, he added.

Stating that the health centres at the 2 villages have a good report, the CMO sought the attention of the State Government to provide other benefits too at the centres.

He also asked the State Mission Director to look into genuine cases while upgrading or renovation of buildings in the area.

Dr Manikanta Singh, State Mission Director, State Health Society, Manipur in his speech said that the main objective of upgrading the health centres is to let all people stay fit and healthy.

While saying that diagnostic services are needed everywhere as a preventive measures for any ailment, the Director expressed concern with the increasing rate of using tobacco and alcohol in the State.

He also assured to look into the requirement of Sub District Hospital at Mao and the Health & Wellness Centres that had been inaugurated for better functioning.

Speaking as the chief guest, Minister Losii Dikho on behalf of Mao constituency expressed gratitude to the Health Department for promoting the health centres at the region for the welfare of all.

The Minister also thanked the medical staffs of Mao for maintaining cleanliness in and around the health centres.

The Minister also said that Pudunamei village is a village which is famous for gardening.

The culture of presenting vegetables of different varieties to the VIPs started from this village, he said.

The Minister then expressed gratitude to the State Government for taking up many developmental projects in the region.

In the past, people hardly visit the place and no developmental work was taken up in the region, but a better relationship had been grown between the State Government and the villagers at present.

Minister Dikho also thanked God for blessing the State with moderate climate, Loktak lake, Siroi Lily and many other beautiful things.
