ZYF Imphal West condoles

Imphal, July 15 2014: The Imphal West Zone of Zeliangrong Youth Front conveyed their heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members of late Makuatliu Gonmei (35), w/o G Adam Rongmei of Khumji village, Tamenglong district.

Makuatliu Gonmei, who expired on July 13, was one of the fire victims who met with the unfortunate fire incident of March 15, 2014 .

The incident took place near Khongsang village at around 3 pm when passengers on a Tata Winger travelling from Tamenglong to Imphal had to cross the road by foot due to a widespread inferno along the road caused by the burning of dry woods for jungle clearance.

About six passengers were injured while crossing the road under heavy smoke.

These passengers namely, Makuatreliu Gonmei (35/F), G Damchuilung Rongmei (40/M), Wichamdinang Chawang (35/M), Bhramacharymayum Radhakumar Sharma (35/M), Roshinikanta Hemam (43/M), and Laishram Landhoni (34/F) suffered more than 50 percent injuries from the fire.

The press release issued by the ZYF chairman mentioned that they took the Governments' indifference on the matter seriously and therefore, while drawing the attention of the concerned authorities, appealed to provide immediate relief to the deceased family and other fire victims.
