Imphal, May 15 2022: Social Welfare Minister, Heikham Dingo Singh along with Health & IPR Minister Sapam Ranjan Singh inaugurated newly constructed 14 Anganwadi centres of Konthoujam Assembly constituency today.

Speaking as the chief guest, H Dingo Singh said that the Social Welfare Department has been taking care of the individuals starting from the pregnancy stage till the old age.

Stating that there are grievances in most of the department and families he assured that the grievances of the Social Welfare Department will be addressed on priority basis.

He further assured to clear the outstanding dues of the department including salaries and honorarium of the Anganwadi workers and helpers.

He also stressed on the need of suggestions and cooperation from the officers and employees to make the Social Welfare Department the best amongst the other departments and asserted that he will strive for the upliftment of the Department.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh said that the Health Department and Social Welfare Department are closely interrelated and highlighted the need for mutual understanding and cooperation between these two departments.

Nutritional care of the children, mother and their wellbeing are some areas which need mutual coordination, he added.

He said that CMHT and Chief Minister's Health for All, have been introduced with the objective to care for the public health in general, particularly the needy people.

The Minister also informed that the proposal to increase the budget for health care services for the State has been tabled during the all India Health Conference which was recently concluded in Gujarat.

Director of Social Welfare, Ng Utam Singh, Joint Director, Bantee Konthoujam, DPO, Ksh Ragini Devi, CDPO, Imphal West, S Bimola Devi and Supervisor Konthoujam Sector, AK Romika Devi also attended the programme as the presidium members.

Officials and staff of the Social Welfare Department, Anganwadi workers and helpers were also present during the inaugural function.
