MPCC observes Nehru's birth anniv

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) observed the 128th birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Pandit JawaharlalNehru at Congress Bhavan here today.
The function was attended by ex-Chief Minister O Ibobi, ex-Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, MPCC president TN Haokip, Congress ML As and other leaders of the party.
Offering of floral tributes at the statue of Jawaharlal Nehru was the main highlight of the function.
Speaking at the occasion, O Ibobi remarked that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru has been given the sobriquet 'Architect o fModem India' in recognition of his service to the Nation.
Acknowledging Pandit Nehru's immense love and care for children, his birth anniversary is also observed as Children's Day across the country.
"It is our bounden duty to offer tributes to the pioneering leader on his birth anniversary", Ibobi said.
