ARESA, Ukhrul celebrates silver jubilee

Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association (ARESA), Ukhrul district marked it's silver jubilee on October 14 with a grand celebration by commemorating their comrades who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty with pride and honour at Ex-Servicemen Hall Rayotang, Ukhrul.
The celebration began with a flag hoisting ceremony followed by the unveiling of the Silver Jubilee Monument by Sandeep Singh, DIG, 10 Sector in the presence of Commandant 18 AR Manish, Army officers and ex-servicemen.
Attending as the chief guest of the celebration, DIG Sandeep said that the momentous gathering of ex-servicemen for silver jubilee celebration will surely motivate many youngsters to serve and join in the forces.
With the initiative of retired Tangkhul AR jawans, the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association was formed on October 14, 1999, he informed.
The DIG further said that through the ARESA platform, all the latest Government information on the welfare measures such as revision of pension scheme and other benefits has to be disseminated to reach the rightful persons in order ensure that they avail the benefits.
On the occasion, the DIG handed out a cash donation to the Association and further assured to renovate the office and rest house constructed at Rayotang, Ukhrul without delay.
As a part of the silver jubilee celebration, school children showcased musical performances and local artists provided entertainment to the gathering.
