Individuals, clubs, organisations continue relief work

With the lockdown imposed to contain the novel coronavirus spread affecting lives greatly, organisations clubs and individuals continue to provide relief items to public and frontliners.
TKTL
The Thongju Kendra Tengbang Lup (TKTL) under the leadership of chief patron Seram Neken has extended helping hands to COVID-19 affected families in Thongju Assembly Constituency.
Altogether 150 families under home quarantine have been given edible items like potatoes, oils, fermented fish, dal, onions, face mask etc.
Around 25 individuals from the Constituency are reported to be infected by novel coronavirus.
Many families in the containment zone are affected by the pandemic.
The volunteers of the TKTL led by its secretary Jawan Mutum and Seram Neken handed over the items to local clubs.
Representatives of Paona Memorial Club, Uchekon Takhok Mapal, Youth Guidance Club Kongba Kshetri Leikai, SRCL Chongabi, Mangaal Club Bashikhong, Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club Okram Chuthek, Social Workers Club Khongman also participated in the distribution programmes.
Voluntary Help Unit Committee
Voluntary Help Unit Committee RIMS today handed out masks, hand gloves and PPE to frontline warriors of Thoubal and Kakching.
The team of the committee presented the kits at SP offices in Thoubal and Kakching respectively for distribution to the frontline workers who are discharging duties amidst the critical situation induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The president of the Voluntary Help Unit Committee RIMS, Moirangthem Subaschandra said that the committee has been extending aid to those who visit RIMS for immediate medical attention since 2001.However, the committee members could not directly help COVID-19 patients this time due to its contagious nature and thus the aid was extended to frontline warriors, he said.
The committee visited Kakching and Thoubal SP offices following their visits to Bishnupur and Churachandpur SP offices earlier, he continued.
Secretary of the committee, K Bony Sharma, former president, Ashnikumar Thongam and advisor, Lekhendro Loukham were also among the team which presented safety kits today.
BJP
Member of BJP State council, Kh Ibomcha provided face masks, hand sanitisers and cash assistance to volunteers of Laikot Phaizol village, Laikot Kom village and Laikot Kharam village under Lamlai Assembly Constituency of Imphal East district, who are monitoring public movements there.
He also provided relief items to two households from Sabungkhok which are in-home quarantine.
Kakching
Councillor of Ward no 8, Kakching Muni
cipal Council, Khumukcham Gojendro Singh in collaboration with WDC, KSWC Hijam Leikai and YFUC Chekshapat distributed edible items such as potatoes, onions, edible oils, packaged salt and face masks to over 300 households.
He also donated additional rice (3kg each) to 100 selected poor families from the Ward, today.
Thoubal
Under the supervision of Khangabok Assembly Constituency MLA, Surjakumar Okram, edibles items were distributed to about 70 households of the Constituency, today.
