Imphal, August 14 2015 : 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised the screening of patriotic film at Sita village on Friday.

Border village Sita is located in the far flung part of Manipur in Chandel district near Indo-Myanmar border and no entertainment facility available here, said a release.

Sensing the need for interactive Independence Day celebrations, Assam Rifles organised the screening of the patriotic movie for the villagers where a total of 151 persons watched the film.

Meanwhile, Major General VS Sreenivas, VSM, IG AR (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles have extended warm greetings and best wishes to all the people of Manipur on the occasion of Independence Day 2015 .

IGAR (South) has also sent its earnest message of peace, harmony, unity and understanding on this joyous occasion and exhorted all sections of the society to stand together and work as one for the peace and progress in the State.
