CCpur, October 13 2019:
The Tuibong Block Chiefs Association have call on the state government to stay the transfer order of the incumbent SDO Tuibong Sub-Division saying they will launch agitation of various forms if their appeal is not fulfilled by October 15.The Tuibong Sub-Divisional Office was established in 2015 and it became fully functional in 2016.Ever since it became fully functional, it was always the wish of the people that they have a person from the same locality as the SDO/BDO of the Sub-Division so that the local sentiment is well understood and developmental schemes are implemented more successfully.
The wish was fulfilled last September when Lunminthang Haokip (MCS) who hails from Molnom village within Tuibong Sub-Division took charge as the SDO/BDO of Tuibong, said the chiefs association comprising of 165 chiefs.
However, to the astonishment and dismay of the local people, Lunminthang Haokip was transferred on October 11 which has hurt the sentiment of the local people as it was not even a month since he took charge of the SDO/BDO of Tuibong, lamented the Assocation.
The chiefs therefore appeal the government to stay the transfer order and threaten to launch agitation of various forms including boycott of the incoming officer, general strike etc, if their appeal was not fulfilled by October 15 .
