Imphal, September 13 2019:
With the All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union coming out openly in support of the All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association, the latter's ongoing cease work strike is set to be intensified.
Speaking to media persons at their MG Avenue office today, All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union's general secretary Maimom Anil alleged that the IOC has been forfeiting all means of livelihood of drivers of 80 LPG bullet tankers and their helpers since October last year.
He also accused the IOC of looking down upon LPG bullet TT drivers.
The way the IOC has been treating LPG bullet TT drivers with disdain would not tolerated by the All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union, he said.
If the laid off LPG bullet TT drivers are not brought back to their profession, the cease work strike launched by All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association since September 7 would be intensified, he continued.
If any driver is found driving LPG bullet TTs when the cease work strike is going on, he will be held accountable for any untoward incident, Anil further said.
