Manipur observes first ever International Left Hander's Day

Manipur Left Handers Club on Thursday organised and observed the International Left Hander's Day for the first time in Manipur at Naoba's Restaurant, RIMS road.
Giving a brief note on the observation convener of Manipur Left Handers Club, Manas Maisnam said that the first International Left Hander's day was observed on August 13, 1976.He further said that the main objective of the observation is meant to promote awareness of the inconveniences faced by the left-handers in a predominantly right handed world.
Moreover, it is also to celebrate its uniqueness and differences who are 15 percent of the world's population and was made to annually celebrate and raise awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left-handed, he added.
Manas Maisnam also said that the newly formed Manipur Left Hander's Club will be organising various awareness programmes in schools and localities about the special need of left-handed kids while urging all parents not to discourage such left handed children and break away the taboo which still exist in our society.
