Denouncing the power tussle amid the crisis in the State, womenfolk of Pangantabi staged a sit-in protest at Pangantabi, Kakching district today organised by Pangantabi Apunba Meira Paibi.

She stated that fighting among BJP legislators for the Chief Minister position amid the crisis in the State is unacceptable and must be stopped immediately.
Instead they should work together to protect the territorial integrity of the State and focus on restoring peace in Manipur.
"At this juncture, changing the Chief Minister is not what people want.
What people want are leaders who will fight for the public with sincerity and boldly protect and safeguard the territorial integrity of the State", said the protester.
The protesters also demanded the Government to stop arresting village volunteers who have been protecting the territory of Manipur since the beginning of the conflict in the State.
Meanwhile, a similar protest was also held at Wangoo Sabal organised by the Wangoo and Chairel GP Meira Pabis Lup condemning the resignation of N Biren Singh from the Chief Ministerial position.
One protester stated that the resignation of N Biren Singh from the position of Chief Minister is what the Kuki people have been demanding and it is unacceptable to take such a decision.
"It is high time for the ruling MLAs to set aside their personal interest and work together in restoring peace in the State.
If the internal rift among the ruling MLAs lead to the imposition of President's Rule in the State, the MLAs must bear the consequences," stated the protesters.
