CPI resolves to defeat BJP

Imphal, October 12 2020:
The Communist Party of India, Andro Local Council has resolved to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the by election to the Andro Assembly segment during its 28th conference held at Andro Bazar Community Hall on October 11, said CPI, Manipur State Council in a statement, today.
It may be mentioned that the schedule for the by-poll to this Assembly segment is not yet announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) .
At the conference, CPI, State secretary, L Sotinkumar said that entering several self-centred individuals into politics is worrying as it hinders the development of the State.
Sotinkumar also opined that amending the 10th schedule of the India Constitution is necessary to check 'unlawful' switching of sides by legislatures.
He also urged the people of the Constituency to abstain from supporting politicians who only contest the election for power.
Apart from electing its new office bearers, a committee was also formed to strengthen CPI.
CPI secretariat member, H Bimol Singh; woman leader, Ph Laibi Devi also attended the conference.
