Flood rescue training prog commences

Thoubal, October 12 2017:
Centre for Academic and Socio-care Services (CAASS), Wangkhem, Thoubal in collaboration with Ward Development Committee, Phouden, Thoubal organised a three day flood rescue training programme at multipurpose community hall in Phouden today .
The training programme was organised under the sponsorship of Relief and Disaster Management Department .
The programme which was participated by educated youths, community leaders and stakeholders of Thoubal district and attended by Wangkhem AC MLA, K Meghachandra Singh as chief guest, Relief and Disaster Management Staff Officer (Training), Mohd Ayub Khan as president and social worker of ward no 17 Mohd Khamba, Veterinary Department Retd Officer, Md Abdul Kalam, United College, Chandel Associate Professor Md Sher Khan Sheikh, GP Women’s College Assistant Professor Dr M Baharuddin Shah as guests of honour .
Speaking at the event, K Meghachandra noted the hardships and inconveniences faced by the people of the State in times of disasters like flood, earth fissure, earthquake, landslides etc and added that the Disaster Management Department has been taking the responsibility of organising training programmes at various areas of the State .
He urged all the people and the participants concerned to take the training sessions seriously and gain knowledge on how to get to safety during natural calamities .
Mohd Ayub Khan explained the preventive measures and steps to follow during and after a disaster.
