Sensitization programme on "New Criminal Laws" held at Kakching

Thoubal, February 12 2025: District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority conducted a Sensitization/Workshop programme on New Criminal Laws for the Investigating Officers and Police Officers of Kakching district.

The program held at the Conference Hall of Superintendent of Police, Kakching was attended by Samom Ibjen, District & Sessions Judge, Thoubal cum Chairman of DLSA, Thoubal, Thokchom Vikramjit Singh, Superintendent of Police, Kakching, Dr Laishram Rina Devi, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thoubal cum Secretary in-charge of DLSA Thoubal, Romendro Singh, Addl SO (Law & Order), Kakching, Neera Sinam, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Kakching along with Investigation Officers of various police station under Kakching district and other police officers.

At the event, Samom Ibjen, District & Sessions Judge, Thoubal emphasized the need of understanding the new criminal laws of the country in maintaining the law and order of the State by the police personnels.

As part of the sensitization programme, Laishram Rina Devi, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thoubal stressed on the "Procedure for Arrest under the New Criminal Laws" while Neera Sinam, JMFC.

Kakching stressed on the "Procedure for Search and Seizure including Videography" as resource persons.

An interaction session on New Criminal Laws was also held as part of the programme.
