A Division Bench of the High Court of Manipur today directed Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) to submit the action taken report of the enquiry carried out by the three member committee constituted by the High Court on or before December 15 without fail .
The direction was given today after the hearing of the PIL related to the irregularities in RIMS hospital before the Division Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh and Justice Kh Nobin Singh .
In the hearing, RIMS authority submitted their report before the Court through their counsel .
As RIMS failed to submit the detailed steps taken up as well as proposed steps to be taken up by the institute in light of the findings given by the enquiry committee before the Court, further hearing of the PIL was fixed on December 15 .
It may be mentioned that on November 24, the three member committee constituted by the Court to look into the alleged irregularities at RIMS, submitted their enquiry report before the Division Bench .
The committee, comprising of High Court (Registrar) N Rojit, retired Additional Director of Health Services, Dr M Kunjabihari and Advocate Tarunkumar, was constituted after a PIL was taken up by the HC following allegations of gross irregularities at RIMS by a post graduate student of the institute .
The committee conducted a spot enquiry on November 14 and 15, during which they visited RIMS Administration Block, various departmental wards and also inspected MRI, CT scan, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), X ray and radio therapy machines .
The committee also recorded the condition of the machinery/ facility.
