Imphal, November 01 2012: Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency MP Dr T Meinya has extended greetings to the people of Manipur especially to the Hindus on the occasion of Diwali.

The MP wished that ill-will and jealousy be banished in the colourful lights of the festival that mark welcoming of God Rama and Goddess Sita.

Deputy Chief Minister and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee President Gaikhangam also greeted the people of the State, especially people of Hindu faith on the occasion of the festival of lights.

In his message, Gaikhangam said that end to violence, development and progress, harmony, peace and prosperity be brought by the festival.

57 Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen KK Sinha and all Ranks of the Red Shield Division also extended their warm greetings to the people of Manipur, Assam, Tripura and Mizoram on the festive occasion of Diwali.

The GOC expressed hope that the festival of lights would light up the lives of people of all communities and bring joy and peace and prosperity to all communities.
