TSA Sadar Hills temporarily withdraws proposed stir following positive response from State Govt

Following the expiry of TSA Sadar Hills ultimatum over the dilapidated NH 2 between Koubru Leikha and Tendongyang pavement today, an agreement was reached between the student body and the State Government rendering TSA Sadar Hills to withdraw its proposed stir scheduled from tomorrow.
Weighing the untold misery of the student community and the public over the dilapidated road, the Thadou Students' Association Sadar Hills served an ultimatum to the State Government on March 1, for repairing the NH 2 stretch between Koubru Laikha and Kanglatongbi within March 11 .
Many student community of Kangpokpi District also declared its support to TSA Sadar Hills over the matter yesterday, while highlighting their untold grievances owing to the heavy column of dust from the pathetic road conditions.
Speaking to media persons, Thangtinlen Haokip, general secretary TSA Sadar Hills said that the Government sent its representatives to Gamgiphai today to deliberate on the issue before coming to an agreement with the student body.
He said that the Government representatives, led by Arun, Assistant Engineer, PWD National Highway assured the executives of TSA Sadar Hills, led by its president Kammang Kipgen, to begin the repairing work of the Koubru Leikha to Tendongyang pavement of NH-2, from March 13.The Assistant Engineer also assured that labourers for the repairing work will reach the work site on March 12 and they will begin work from March 13.Considering the commitment of the State Government regarding the repairing work of Koubru Leikha to Tendongyang from March 13, TSA Sadar Hills decided to suspend its proposed stir which was scheduled to begin from tomorrow, maintained Thangtinlen Haokip.
However, the TSA Sadar Hills warned that if the repairing work does not begin as assured, from March 13, it (TSA Sadar Hills) will launch different forms of agitation from the same day, March 13, onwards.
The student body also lauded the support of the public, youth clubs, social leaders, organization, CSOs and student community in particular and appealed to them to sustain their cooperation and support in the future.
Meanwhile, TSA Sadar Hills also appealed to the general public, UGs and other like-minded people residing in the district to cooperate with the works taken up by the State Government in repairing the said road in the larger interest of student community and the public.
