Imphal, November 10 2011:
National spokesperson of BJP and MP Prakash Javadekar on Thursday demanded immediate investigation into the disproportionate assets of the Ministers in the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh led SPF government.
Addressing a press conference at the office of BJP state unit at Nityapat Chuthek here today, Javadekar said, "BJP demands immediate investigation into disproportionate assets of the Ministers of Ibobi Singh Government.
We also demands immediate enactment for the appointment of the Lok Ayukta in Manipur.
If there is one state which required immediate Lok Ayukta, it is Manipur" .
He said that it is an irony that Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh advised the new graduate teachers that they should refrain from paying bribes for getting jobs.
"BJP wants to ask the Ibobi Singh government that is it a choice for the Manipur people not to pay bribe for anything? It would have been better if he would have advised his colleagues, who are involved neck deep in recruitment corruption.
Therefore, it is ridiculous that the government, which has become synonymous of corruption is advising other", Javadekar observed.
With regard to continued blockade along the highways in Manipur, the BJP leader asserted that it is the evidence of complete abdication of its duties by the central and state governments.
"Blockade for 101 days is a testimony of non-existence of a government.
The blockade continued because there is no political will on the part of the government.
The Ibobi government is hand in glove with the forces that have blocked the National Highways.
The Ibobi Singh government is guilty of complicity in the blockade and is responsible for suffering of the people of Manipur", Javadekar alleged.
He also demanded the centre and the state government to immediately ensure smooth and regular movement of vehicles on all highways.
"They are duty bound to resolve the crisis and ensure free flow of goods services", the BJP National spokesperson added.
