Imphal, September 10 2014:
Deputy General Manager of FCI Regional Office Imphal, Ksh Thoiba today refuted the statement of Manipur Truck Owners' Welfare Association President, H Ranjit where Ksh Thoiba's alleged negligence was blamed for the failure of shipment of rice from Jiribam to Imphal.
Speaking to reporters in FCI regional office in Thangal Bazaar, DGM Ksh Thoiba said, "The claim of MTOWA's president of having deposited the required amount in the FCI account is incorrect.
The problem started since he did not deposit the full amount in the account.
His allegations against me are completely baseless" .
He added, "It is surprising to know that Ranjit had already got the tender acceptance after bidding for Rs 15.37.Earlier, the limited tender rate was Rs 18.98 which is comparatively higher than the rate he had bid.
Ranjit has been registering cases against the tender and delaying all the work and the only reason behind his act can be to avoid the higher tender rate" .
He further added that FCI considers the Imphal-Jiribam road as a very important lifeline and in order to implement maximum quantity on the road, FCI has been undertaking movement planning every month.
MTOWA's statement which said that Imphal-Jiribam road has been neglected is a one-sided thought, he said and added that the FCI staff from Imphal and Jiribam are dedicated to improvement of Imphal-Jiribam road and have been working earnestly for the welfare of the people without taking any leave.
