ZYF welcomes Peace Accord

The Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) has welcomed the framework agreement which was recently signed between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) on August 3.The front appreciated the political will displayed by 'the Indian leaders' in resolving the Indo-Naga political issue.
ZYF in a statement signed by its general secretary, David Kamei, said that the Nagas have been waiting for the realisation of their political aspiration with high expectations when the Govt of India and Naga political group(s) declared ceasefire and engaged in peace talks after going through decades of military suppression in the Naga areas.
The ZYF continued that hundreds of people had lost their precious lives, hundreds of women raped, hundreds faced inhumane treatment and torture, many people were rendered helpless, hundreds of students lost opportunities to get education and employment, many people met untimely death due to the impact of excessive torture etc.
Showing optimism in the new development, ZYF expressed that the determination of the Govt of India and the Naga group to solve the long pending Naga's political issue is very apparent from the signing of the historic agreement.
ZYF in particular, and Zeliangrong people in general hoped that the signing of the Accord will usher in the path of progress and prosperity, and bring long lasting peace and development in the region and the entire Nation for the both the Indians and the Nagas in days to come.
ZYF hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership saying that he possesses strong political will and other Indian leaders such as Home Minister Rajnath Singh, peace interlocutor RN Ravi and others for understanding the Naga political issue.
The front also hailed Isak Chishi Swu (chairman), Th Muivah (general secretary) and other Naga leaders for their strong determination and sincere commitment towards the Naga political cause.

(DIMAPUR) The Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) said that decades of struggle and suffering endured by Naga people has finally brought cheers and hope when the Government of India (GoI) and Government of the People's Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) on August 3 signed a historic "Framework Agreement" which will pave way for permanent peace between Nagalim and India.
It is indeed a huge achievement for the Naga people and an inspiration for all the struggling people of the world under foreign domination.
While welcoming the "Framework Agreement," KTU president LH Paohao said, "I on behalf of all the Kuki populace under Nagalim would like to express our unflinching support, solidarity and appreciation to the collective leadership, Yaruiwo Isak Chishi Swu and Ato Kilonser Th Muivah" .
Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) fervently appealed to the Government of India under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to continue the momentum of political statesmanship and solve the oldest political movement in South East-Asia respecting the historical and political rights of Nagalim.
"We pray that, Almighty God will grant wisdom and long life to the collective leadership and to the Indian leadership", it added.
