Imphal, April 09 2022: The 5th Annual Conference of Manipur Oncology Society, MOSCON 2022 was inaugurated today at Classic Grande, Chingmeirong.

The inaugural function was graced by Professor Th Tomcha Singh, former Head of Department, Radiation Oncology, RIMS, Professor Sinam Rajendra Singh, former Head of Dept, Urology RIMS, Professor Y Indibor Singh, president of Manipur Oncology Society, Dr RK Bikramjit Singh, chairman, reception committee and Dr Dhanabir Thangjam, Organizing secretary as the presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Th Tomcha said that oncology is a discipline which needs extensive research.

He also informed that researches are being carried out on oncology on a large scale globally and said that there are many cancer patients at present.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also predicted that cancer research will be advanced manifold after 20 years, he added.

He also expressed contentment over the welfare activities taken up by Manipur Oncology Society in the past few years.

After the inaugural function, a scientific session was held where many renowned doctors and experts spoke on oncology and its allied topics.
