Imphal, April 09 2012:
The Tangkhul Aze Katamnao Long (Southern Tangkhul Students' Union) has urged the Government to revoke a transfer order which effect the transfer of N Sanjit Singh, PT from Laikoiching Jr H/S (under ZEO Kangpokpi) to Yumnam Khunou Jr H/S which is under Zone-II, Imphal.
Addressing reporters today at Palace Compound, TAKL President, Shimthar Jajo pointed out that Laikoiching Government Jr H/S is understaffed.
He decried the attempt to transfer a teacher from the school instead of providing adequate infrastructure to the school.
He pointed out that transferring a teacher with post from one ZEO to another Zone without replacement is not genuine.
Jajo said the school has become one of the best in the area after it was upgraded to High School on March 30, 2011.He pointed out that the school should have 20 above staff as per the Government's staffing pattern.
But, sadly the school is run with only fifteen staff including one locally arranged teacher.
He said a memorandum was also submitted to the Director of Education (S) by the TAKL to revoke the transfer order and to provide adequate infrastructure for the betterment of the people of the area.
The memo said that transfer with post from one ZEO to another is the main factor for the cause of shortage of teachers in schools in various hill districts.
As such, the TAKL urged the Director of Education (S) to revoke the transfer order.
It also urged for providing adequate infrastructure to Laikoiching Jr H/S .
