Imphal, December 08 2012:
The armed PREPAK-progressive (Pro) has categorically refuted claim by security forces that two individuals arrested by Assam Rifles troops from Jiribam area on December 5 were its overground workers.
It was claimed that Bachaspatimayum Boby Sharma s/o Priyokumar of Porompat Wangkheirakpam Leikai and Md Firoz Ali s/o Nazip Ali of Phouden Mayai Leikai, arrested by AR troops along with recovery of Rs 2.48 lakhs, were overground workers of the armed outfit.
Contrary to the claim, a PREPAK (Pro) statement issued today by its senior publicity officer of Department of Publicity and Propaganda Boby Mangang contended that both have neither any connection with the organisation or the outfit's armed wing Red Army, nor among individuals working for the group in Jiribam area.
Dismissing the security forces' claim as outdated and customary practices, Boby Mangang also alleged that whenever an individual is found possessing substantial amount of cash, he/she is either eliminated or branded as UGs/overground workers by both State and Central security forces.
