Protest demands release of woman activist

Imphal, December 08 2011:
Demanding unconditional release of Young women's Help Organisation secretary A Robita Devi, womenfolk staged a sit-in-demonstration in front of the Organisation's office at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai today.
A police team picked up a Robita Devi on December 1, after she launched hunger strike to protest atrocities against women folk.
She had been consequently sent to jail.
Speaking to newspersons at the protest site, a functionary of the Organisation namely M Sundari Devi cautioned that failure to release Robita will constraint the organisation to launch intense agitation in collaboration with different NGOs.
