Private Schools' Development Council celebrates 15th foundation day

The 15th foundation day observance ceremony of Private Schools' Development Council (PSDC) Thoubal was held today at Peace and Freedom Academy located at Thoubal Haokha Sorarel.
The ceremony was graced by Ahanthem Subhash, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal as the chief guest; B Saratchandra Sharma, president, PSDC as the functional president and Arambam Anilkumar, ZEO Zone-III Thoubal as the guest of honour.
As a part of the ceremony, the dignitaries handed out Best Teacher Certificate and Best Student Certificate in recognition of their excellent performance to a selected teacher and student from amongst the private schools in the district.
Mementos were also distributed sponsored by Singhania Education Services Limited.
Speaking as the chief guest, DC Thoubal highlighted the importance of good etiquette among students, adding that success will not come to those who do not practice polite behaviour.
Addressing the fixation on securing high marks, he maintained that marks achieved with sincere efforts and understanding the lessons well will help students in future challenges as well.
Thus, he urged students to cultivate the habit of dedicating 3/4 hours to their studies daily.
In addition, he encouraged schools to organise extra curricular activities to develop self-confidence in students.
As general knowledge is a pertinent subject for students who are keen on attempting competitive examinations, the DC also urged school authorities to organise frequent quiz competitions for their benefit.
He said that the education sector has made great strides with regards to both Government and private schools in Thoubal district.
Highlighting the role of the Thoubal ZEO in bringing about such improvements, he added that the public of Thoubal should acknowledge the ZEO's contribution in this aspect.
He also thanked PSDC and school founders for their efforts and contributions.
Moreover, the DC assured to look into the issues brought forward by PSDC and deliberate over the actions that can be undertaken.
Students from various schools showcased Thang-Ta, Pung Cholom and other traditional performances before the gathering.
