LPG safety awareness programme conducted at Senapati DHQs

Senapati, October 08 2017: Since the people of Senapati district is mostly using LPG for cooking and other related services, an LPG Safety Awareness Programme for Senapati district was held at Mini Stadium, Senapati on October 7 under the aegis of the Indane, Indian Oil Corp.Ltd, due to the necessity to have knowledge of safety use of LPG .

The awareness programme was graced by Losii Dikho, Minster PHED, Printing and Stationary, Government of Manipur, in the presence of Theshow Kriina, Speaker ADC, Senapati, TC Koren, Manager of LPG Sales as the resource person, LPG dealers and consumers .

TC Koren spoke on the safety and economic usage and steps to keep in mind while using LPG, like reasons to keep the cylinder in upright position, placement of the gas stove, not using inflammable items in kitchen other than the gas cylinders, keeping the regulator switched off while sleeping or going out, replacing the safety hose every 5 years etc .

In case of any gas leakage, contact local gas distributor or call helpline no 1906 to maximize the use of LPG through right and safe practice.

There are 678 consumers in Senapati, he added
Losii Dikho, Minster PHED, Printing and stationary, Government of Manipur, expressed his gratefulness to the organizer for educating the common people and for informing the policy of the Government and the usefulness of the LPG .

He asserted that it has become a very important essential commodity in the day to day's life of the people and all must know the policy that the Government is taking up regarding the usefulness and safety of this programme .

People need to understand what is the important regarding thsi product.

From the past, Government have made policies that is good and best for the people like the advanced countries which have taken up many policies for the poor, for the country and for the citizen where in they make free education, health care ,hospital facilities for treatment etc, he explained .

PM Narenra Modi has taken up so many initiatives to reach the targeted group (especially BPL) through national food security, free distribution of light bulb and LPG subsidies, he asserted and added that in spite of the importance of power energy, citizen lacks the necessary awareness of economic importance .

The aim of the prepaid is to get 24×7 electricity and to make people’s work easier economically or financially and the country or State can't complete with the others as everything depends on power i.e.Electric and power .

He said, “Today LPG is given to the BPL Families by the Government of India as the burning of wood and cow dung produce lots of smoke and result in many disease .

It is very important to conduct such awareness programme for the people, he added.
