LEVYM denounces terror attacks

Imphal, September 08 2024: The Lenient Established Volunteer Youth of Manipur (LEVYM) has vehemently condemned the attacks carried out by Kuki terrorists against innocent civilians in the State.

In a release, LEVYM said that since September 1, Kuki terrorists have launched several terror attacks using drones and long range rockets in different parts of Manipur including Koutruk, Senjam Chirang, Moirang and Jiribam.

"On September 1, Kuki terrorists launched a massive attack using drones at Koutruk village killing a 35-year old woman identified as Ngangbam Surbala and injuring many others including her minor daughter.

This was followed by a long range rocket attack at a densely populated area in Moirang on September 5 killing a 70-year-old identified as RK Rabei.

Then on September 7, Kuki militants infiltrated a village in Jiribam and shot dead a sleeping person, identified as Yurembam Kulendra Singha", it added.

LEVYM lamented that even when Kuki terrorists have used advanced drones and rockets to bombard and kill civilians, the security forces aren't seen conducting combing operations in the hills and seizing these weapons.

LEVYM also expressed its anguish over the failure of the State and Central Governments to take any concrete action against the Kuki terrorist and added that these heinous crimes & terror attacks on civilians are results of a failed governance.

Further, LEVYM conveyed its solidarity to all the bereaved families and urged all the people to come together to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
