Imphal, September 08 2011:
Hitting hard against the security forces and the state police and their so called surrender ceremony, the proscribed UG group UNLF today slammed the security forces for organizing such surrender drama and trying to belittle the courage of the revolutionaries.
UNLF in a press release, signed by its Senior Publicity Officer, Ksh Yoihenba, stated that 2nd Lieutenant Oinam Chairenlakpa alias Guneshwar son of O Samungou of Thanga Chingkha Leikai of MPA who surrendered to the security forces was injured in an encounter with the security forces at Khengjoi area in 2008.Since then he did not report to his unit.
He had also spent some times in the jail.
In such situation, it is not surprising for UNLF to find him among those who surrendered.
Moreover, security personnel often threatened family members of UNLF/MPA cadres to arrange their surrender or face the dire consequences of whole families being killed and their houses set afire.
The release further claimed that Tongbram Mitlang alias Babuthoi who surrendered in the name of UNLF/MPA on September 7 is not a member of UNLF/MPA.
The inclusion of various UG cadres who have already given up arms and fallen in the net of the security forces also revealed the hidden agenda to disintegrate and discourage the ongoing revolutionary movements in the state.
Moreover, Sergeant Major Liankhosiam alias Samboi, Sergeant Major Propolin alias Papao, Sergeant Major L Gulkhochon alias Ngampao from CCpur and Private Soubam Somen alias Ningaidaba of Imphal East who surrendered to the security forces as published on local dailies of September 2 were not cadres of the group, it stated.
While cautioning the people and the members of various revolutionary groups in the state, the release claimed that such cheap propaganda of the security forces will not discouraging the ongoing revolutionary movements in the state.
