Memorial observation of Ema Rajani held

Imphal, February 08 2019: The 29th memorial observation of Ema Rajani, a brave mother who fought in the Nupi Lan, was observed at Nupilal Memorial Association's office in Tera today.

Secretary Steering Committee, Nupilal Memorial Association Manipur, Longjamba Meitei Netaji, while speaking at the simple gathering, stated that the memorial observation along with 11th State level Nupilan Patriotic Song and Quiz competition, which was supposed to be held as part of the month long observation of Nupilan Ningshing Thouram in December in a grand manner.

However, owing to the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 in the Lok Sabha on January 8 and supporting the people's movement against implementation of the said Bill in the State and the North East region, the prize distribution function has also been postponed for the moment.

Netaji added that the ceremony was organised today in a simple manner by paying floral tribute to the brave mother.

Netaji added that, meanwhile the observation committee will fix a date for the prize distribution event after February 13.Longjamba Netaji lauded the public for their strong stance against the passing and implementation of the Bill.
