Imphal, January 08 2018: A five-day Orientation and Awareness Programme for Mental Retardation/Special Educators/Resource Persons/Anganwadi Workers/Nurses/Students inaugurated today at Manipur Press Club.

The programme is jointly organised by National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, Secunderabad; State Commissioner for Persons With Disabilities and Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons.

The inaugural function was attended by Dr RK Kumarjit, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities as chief guest; Dr Mary Anurupa, Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and T Mugesh, Lecturer Special Education as guests of honour.
