15 non-locals pulled up

In continuation of their drive to find out illegal immigrants, the task force of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) pulled up 15 non-Manipuris who did not possess any valid identification documents.
Speaking to media persons at their Nongmeibung office today, JCILPS Women Wing programme coordinator Nameirakpam Chingkheinganbi said that the 15 non-locals who did not have valid identification documents were pulled up by the task force from Sekmaijin this afternoon.
They were working in a stone crusher firm owned by one Thongam Heramani of Sekmaijin.
The 15 non-local people were brought to the firm this morning from Khoyathong by one Thounaojam Khoimu of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.
Out of the 15 non-local people, seven were in possession of identity proof documents issued by the Rising Knowledge Club, Thangmeiband.
On enquiry, it was learnt that the identity proof documents were issued by the club after charging Rs 200 each.
Office bearers of the club should come to the office of JCILPS and explain how and under what authority it issued the identity proof documents to the seven non-local people, Chingkheinganbi said.
She also asked Tashi Interiors Embracing Quality, Singjamei manager Prem to come to the office of JCILPS by 3 pm of August 8 else he would be assumed as opposing the popular demand and movement for enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur.
