AICC to decide between Ibobi and Gaikhangam

Imphal, March 07 2012: The 42 elected Congress MLAs have lobbed the question of deciding who should be the leader of the Congress Legislature Party and by extension the next Chief Minister at the court of the AICC leadership.

The decision to refer the matter to the AICC was taken during a meeting of the Congress MLAs today evening, wherein Gaikhangam and O Ibobi reportedly pitched in for the leadership mantle, said a reliable source while talking to The Sangai Express.

AICC observers Luzin-ho Faleiro and Hemanta Biswas were also present at the meeting, said the source and added that they will put forward the matter to the AICC leadership.

The two will leave Imphal tomorrow.
