NSCN (IM) cadres clash with KNA(B) militants

Imphal, September 05 2024:
A fierce gun fight broke out between NSCN(IM) cadres and KNA(B) beyond Kamjong district along the Indo-Myanmar border on Wednesday night.
The fighting broke out as KNA(B) tried to infiltrate into Manipur from across the international border.
It is said that both NSCN(IM) and KNA(B) cadres suffered casualties in the fierce gun battle but the exact figure of casualties could not be ascertained.
Citing a video file released by Tamu Indepth News, the Ukhrul Times reported that the battle took place at Min Thar, a village located on the Indo-Myanmar international border.
According to the video published by Tamu Indepth News in Burmese language, the battle involved a combined force of NSCN(IM), PLA, and SNA (Shanni Nationalities Army) on one side, and PDF and KNA(B) on the other side.
Earlier too, there were several incidents of violent confrontations between NSCN(IM) and KNA(B) .
On June 18, 2024, the CAO of the NSCN (IM) Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) said that four Naga Army soldiers have been killed by the KNA (B) .
NSCN(IM)'s Captain RS Winson from Ngainga village, Ukhrul district was killed in action on June 15, 2024, during a confrontation in the Angko Hills Range against the Kuki National Army (Burma) or KNA(B) .
The latest clash is part of a series of violent confrontations involving NSCN (IM) and KNA (B) .
In February 2024, the NSCN (IM) accused the KNA(B) of killing Honpam Chithung on February 10 in Myanmar.
Additionally, in May 2024, the Naga Army alleged that Sentilong Jamir of Mokokchung, Nagaland, was captured and tortured to death by KNA (B) forces while on duty at the Indo-Myanmar border.
