Memorandum submitted to Health Minister for enhancement of health services and infrastructure in Jiribam

The District Hospital Monitoring Committee Jiribam submitted a memorandum to Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Minister of Health and Family Welfare urging for enhancement of health services and infrastructure in Jiribam district.
The memorandum was submitted to the Minister through the Deputy Commissioner Jiribam.
The key demands raised by the committee include upgradation of the Fifty Bedded Hospital in Jiribam to a full-fledged District Hospital in view of the challenges faced by the residents of the district as the Fifty Bedded Hospital is facing shortages in specialist doctors, nursing staff, equipment, and other infrastructure compelling the residents to seek treatment outside the district.
Furthermore, it demanded the upgradation of Primary Health Centre PHC, Borobekra, Jiribam to a Community Health Centre (CHC) as the people living in the sub-division are facing serious issues in the health sectors.
In order to serve the poor people of Jiribam better, the committee stressed on the need for improvement of the Urban Primary Health Centre in Jiribam Municipal area since it is not operational fully.
To closely monitor and effectively manage the health care development in this region, the committee demanded a provision of a post for Joint or Deputy Director, Health and Family Welfare and an Administrative Officer in Jiribam.
Lastly it demanded an establishment of an Engineering Cell for the Department of Health and Family Welfare in Jiribam as an Engineering Cell is essential in Jiribam to improve the health sector's infrastructure and services.
The District Hospital Monitoring Committee Jiribam urged the Health Minister to consider the above points at the earliest to address the pressing health care needs of the people in Jiribam.
